Adesugata Mahou no Sannin Musume

Single OVA, debut in 1986

Magical Girl Trio, starring Creamy Mami, Persia, and Magical Emi. Produced by Studio Pierrot. This was a promotional OVA produced with Persia, Yuu, and Mai visiting a spa together. The video starts out with the three opening sequences to each series running simultaneously. The show begins with the girls, hair pulled atop their heads, dressed in kimonos and sitting down to a traditional Japanese meal that keeps causing them to transform into their alter egos. To transform back the girls go out to the hotspring and recite tongue twisters as incantations (this probably plays off the alliterated, nonsense phrases that are used traditionally for the Pierrot magic phrases).

The next part of the special contains scenes from each show and each girl in turn narrating how she's watching her memories with the other two. While they do so, they each call their boyfriend and introduce him to the other girls. The video ends with the three girls on stage. The magical animals from the shows line up side by side, then we see Mai holding a star, Persia a snowflake, and Yuu a heart. As they stand together, their magical counterparts/alter egos appear behind them, and finally behind their counterparts appear the three girls as their adult selves, completing each girl's triad of young womanhood and symbolic growth stages. In the audience meanwhile, sit the various characters from each show.

A little note, the end sequence set on stage seems to be used again in a later promotional video made by Studio Pierrot for Wedding Peach. In the music video for Virgin Love (the second season closing song) the girls give a concert on stage while various characters from the series play in the band or appear briefly in the audience.
