I have watched three of the other OVAs and several episodes of the TV series. When I have more time I will update this section.
The following on the TV series and OVAs is courtesy of Dave Endresak:
"Halfway through the first series, she's hit by a truck and is killed. She is reborn as a baby of the couple who were taking care of her originally... a childless couple who had given up hope of ever having a baby. The reason Momo comes to the Human World in the first place is because people were losing faith in their dreams - since she's the Princess of the Dream World (which is the Magic World, of course) her parents send her to the Human World to try to help people believe in their dreams, once again. When Momo dies and is reborn as a little baby, she becomes the answer to her own quest. Her dreams become a source of magic for the Dream World (of course that's where the Dream World's magic - Momo's magic - comes from... human dreams). She doesn't have magic anymore herself, though... that is, no magic other than believing in her dreams, the same magic that all humans have. She's just a normal human girl now.
Ten years later, the second series was created. The first Momo was from the world of Farininasa - the Dream World of the Sky. The second Momo is the Princess of Marininasa - the Dream World of the Sea. During the series, the two Momos actually meet... during the latter episodes, that is. They love to play with words and act as mirror images of each other. There's a super cute scene where they're trying out for a musical production. Their parents are friends, of course - that's why the first Momo's father asked the King of Marininasa to send his daughter to the Human World to continue the work that the first Momo had started, ten years earlier. At the end of the second series, the second Momo voluntarily stays in the Human World, despite the fact that she'll lose her magic and become a normal human girl.
The theme of being 'normal' but having 'magic' just by being 'normal' is a standard element of magical girl stories. That's why the first series of Sailor Moon ends the way it does, for example. Megumi Hayashibara has stated that of all the characters she's played, Momo-chan is probably her favorite - Momo's magic might be wonderful, but it's her perseverence in solving problems without using magic that is actually the theme of the story. The message for young girls (and guys) is that it might be nice to have magic, but it's much better and more rewarding to solve problems in life using your own ingenuity. Such accomplishments have their own unique 'magic.'
The two Momos also meet during Station of Your Memories, one of the two OVAs. It's a very, very serious story with all sorts of symbolic imagery and indirect feminine references. Still, it has some really nice comedic moments too. Likewise, the OVA Bridge to Your Tomorrow is extremely serious and symbolic - it only has the second Momo, though, not both of them. To give an example of the comedy duo of the two Momos, one scene in the OVA has one saying "Koko wa doko?" while the other repeats "Doko wa koko?""
